As an added security measure, the Library uses a PIN code system with the Self-Check machines on Level 2. If you misplace your matric card, this code will stop someone else from using your card to borrow books.

To borrow books on a Self-Check machine, you place your matric / staff / Library card down for the machine to read the barcode, and then key in your PIN code.

First time users of the Self-Check machines will need to set their PIN code

• sign in to the library catalogue
• select "My Account"
• select "Self-check PIN Code"
• enter the Barcode number (inlcuding the letter) from your card
• enter your new number (make up a number between 2 & 10 digits long)
• enter your new number again
• select the "Go" button.

NB: if a book has been borrowed using your matric card, YOU are responsible for that book!

If you forget and need to reset your PIN code, approach the Library Customer Service Counter on Level 2.
