Using the Library
Who can use the TP Library?
All TP students and staff can use the TP Library. We also have options for External Members.
What does Membership cost?
Free for TP students and staff, External Members will have varying annual fees.
When does the Library close?
9pm during the term, and 7pm during the vacation. More on opening hours...
What if the book is not on the shelf?
If the library catalogue (OPAC) does not display a date in the "Due Date" column, and yet you still cannot find the book on the shelf, you may need to ask the Library Staff at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter to search for the book for you.
Where is the CD that goes with the book?
Ask the Library Staff at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter.
What if I damage / lose a book?
Report all damage or losses to the Level 2 Customer Service Counter immediately. And please remember NEVER to lend a book or your library card to a friend as YOU are liable for EVERYTHING borrowed under your name.
Where do I find newspaper articles?
You can read the newspapers from the Lifestyle Collection on Level 3, or you can search for newspaper articles online.
Where do I find journal articles?
You can browse among the journal shelves on Level 4, or you can search for journal articles online.

How do I borrow a book?
Use the Self-check Machines on Level 2, or ask for help from the Level 2 Customer Service Counter.
When can I take Red Spot books out overnight?
From 5:30pm on weekdays during term time, and 3:30pm during the vacations.
How do I reserve a book?
If a book has been borrowed by someone else, you can click on the "Reserve" link in the OPAC (library catalogue) and then wait for an email from the Library telling you when and where to come and fetch the book.
Where do I pay my fines?
At the Level 2 Customer Service Counter.
What if I lose my library / matric card?
Report the loss to the Level 2 Customer Service Counter immediately as you as responsible for everything borrowed under your name.
What if I can't find what I'm looking for?
Come to the Level 5 Information Counter, phone us at 6780 5773, or Ask A Librarian.

Using the Computers
Does the library provide computers for me to use?
On Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5. The Level 5 Research Room computers, however, are for research only - no gaming! You may use the computers for a maximum of 5 hours each day.
Can I use Microsoft Office in the Library?
On the computers on Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Are there printers in the library?
There are printers connected to the computers on Levels 2, 3, 4, and 5, as well as more on Level 1 (access Level 1 by turning left inside the Library entrance on Level 2).
Are there scanners in the library?
In the Level 4 Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
Can I access the Library from home?
Most of the Library resources can be accessed from home, just login via the Pink Screen.
How do I access the Wireless LAN?
All Library patrons can access the Wireless LAN, including External members.

students - admission number and TP password (NOT your email password!)
part-time students - admission number & T+barcode number, or ask at the Level 2 Customer Service Counter
staff - email ID and password.
