All library materials have a Call Number, which is a combination of letters and numbers assigned to an item to indicate its place on the shelf. The Call Number is assigned according to the Library of Congress (LC) Classification system, which allows titles on similar subjects to be shelved together. Hence Science and Technology titles may be assigned Call Numbers Q to T, while Design related titles may be assigned Call Number starting with the letter “N”.
