December 1990 – Birth of 'Temasek Polytechnic News' newsletter. That's our conclusion after we spent hours unearthing from our Digital Media Repository.

Called Temasek Polytechnic News, the newsletter was initially a monthly publication distributed to staff. Contributed by a team of writers from both academic and administrative departments, the newsletter was printed in black and white over four pages and it featured great anecdotes of events and happenings in TP. (It was much later that the newsletter became a bimonthly publication). 

Managed by Corporate Communications Department, Temasek Polytechnic News was particularly important given that the campuses of TP were dispersed all over Singapore before the merger in 1995.

Then, in December 1991, for the first time, the newsletter was expanded to six pages – it featured the celebration of TP's first anniversary. The last issue we could dig out from our Archives was a bumper issue (August - October 1992) which spanned 12 pages in colour.

The publication died a natural death as various departments and schools began starting their own newsletters.
