Bizline
When it first started, Biznews
didn't look a bit like it looks in Feb 2003. Even its
name was different. When the
bi-annual publication was first started out in March 1995, it was called
Bizline. It was then a two-colour publication in black and red only.
The masthead was typical of newsletters in the
mid-90s – serious- and
corporate-looking.
In
January 1998, the magazine was renamed to Biznews. Black,
white and red were used for the masthead, and the
magazine went full-steam into full-colour
printing. Indeed, with more colours came more
content.
To
mark its 10th anniversary, the magazine was
revamped again in July 2000. The masthead was
replaced with one that used handwriting typeface
and the body text was replaced with serif
typeface that makes reading easier on the eyes. By this time, content
was
segregated in five sections of
studies, play, adventure, working life, and
campus life.
In
2001, with the setting up of Diploma in
Communications Media and Management, Brendan
Wong, course manager of the diploma, was roped in
as advisor.
Despite these changes
throughout the years, what has remained unchanged at this point in time (February 2003)
is the zeal of the editorial staff – the same
editorial team has remained since Biznews' inception! That says a lot of the
team's camaraderie!
Biznews is also available online.
