For this chair, Product & Industrial Design student, Matthew Tan Tian Xiang clinched the prestigious Gold award at the recent Singapore Furniture Industries Council's Furniture Design Award 2005 in the Students Category.

This coffee-table cum chair called "Vox" can be transformed as the user wishes, into multiple functions. The chair, created in response to the theme "New Asia", won over a panel of 10 foreign and local representatives from the furniture and interior design industries judged the entries.

And if that is not enough, Matthew wrestled the award from fiercely competitive institutions such as La-Salle SIA College of the Arts, Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and the National University of Singapore.
